Still no internet...

Hey guys,

Just to update you all!

I'm now moved into the new flat and (almost) mostly settled, but I've still not got an internet connection. Internet people are fecking me about and I'm a bit pissed about that! I should hopefully have something sorted out before xmas, but until then I'm basically incommunicado. Which is more than a little bit shit. Esp at this time of year.

If anyone wants (likely late!) xmas cards and doesn't think I have their address, please post and say I don't have it and I'll ask loriel_eris to keep an eye on this post and I will (somehow) get in touch to get your address!

If i have your address, chances are you'll get a card whether you want one or not! :p

anyway, gtg, but I'm still alive and will hopefully be back soon

(no subject)

Hey guys,

I just logged in to find a load of awesome feedback comments in my inbox. THANK YOU! I will respond, but I will be internet-less for at least another week. Am over at lakadaisy's at the moment and she kindly let me log in to do some internet banking and make sure that loriel_eris hadn't broken my inbox ;p (I &hearts you, Lori!)

Anyway, just to let you know I'm all moved and getting settled into the new job. Hopefully back online by the end of next weekend!

Not Really Here...

This is actually loriel_eris posting for kyizi.

She asked me post and let you all know that she's not dead, but she doesn't have internet at the moment, and isn't likely to have internet for the next couple of weeks. She's seen most of the comments in her inbox, but didn't get a chance to reply to them before she was whisked into the realm of internet deprivation.

There may or may not be brief appearances from kyizi, dependant on whether or not she gets the chance to get to Starbucks and make awesome usage of their free wi-fi...

Notes: I want to give a huge thank you to my beta readers, tesserae_ and devikun, who went above and beyond the call of duty on this! I have never had such an in depth, comprehensive beta done before and they had to have spent a lot of time on it. I couldn't have asked for better beta readers and I really appreciate all that you guys did helping me reign in my overeager imagination, as it tried to spiral out of control. Thanks for all the help tidying up clumsy bits and sorting out those typos, but mainly for helping me cut out the bits I really didn't need when I was finding it so hard to do myself!

Summary: It’s been almost four years since Atlantis was thrown into the far reaches of the universe, with no idea where they are or how to get home. John Sheppard is lost and Cameron Mitchell can’t quite work out how the hell he's managing to cope with running the city; his only consolation is that he’s not the one running the whole show. When one of their teams is lost and planets start to disappear from the night sky, things suddenly take a turn for the worst. Struggling to cope with their loss, the people of Atlantis have to pull together to fight an enemy unlike any they’ve seen before and their only chance of winning seems to lie within the city itself, but the cost of survival may just turn out to be too high.

A note to anyone who reviews: I WILL respond, but please note that I'm in the process of moving house this weekend (as in my parents should arrive with the van in about half an hour!), so it might not be until next week! I hope you enjoy

SGA Big Bang: Preview

Okay, so previews for the SGA Big Bang have been posted over the last few weeks. Mine went up today (*cough* it was still the 11th in SOME parts of the world when I hit post... *cough* -- seriously, my computer was fucking about majorly. I am so sure it's about to keel over and die on me...)

So go check it out!

Preview for 'The Deconstruction of Falling Stars'...

P.S. I am so awol atm, but that's because I'm in the process of changing jobs and moving house to a new city (I get the keys to my very own flat -- okay it's still rented, but I'll be living alone! -- in three days)! Life has definitely picked up and I will hopefully be back around LJ a lot more when I get settled. *is all kinds of gleeful*

Hey all,

just to let you all know, I'm not ignoring people on purpose! Am currently internetless whilst we change provider. I will be back soon!

Hope everyone's well.

purple_shoes, sorry for abandonment! I will be back soon! We can kickstart the group again, unless you've managed to do so in my absense! :)

Harry Potter fic...

So, every now and then, I get nostalgic for those awesome fics of old that first drew me into the genre. Way back when I'd only just discovered the books (I think book 4 had just come out at that point) and things were new and shiny. Back in the days when I shipped for Harry/Ginny as easily as I later shipped Draco/Harry, Harry/Hermione and Snape/Hermione.

When these urges strike, I have a tendency to go back and re-read those classic few fics that hooked me right in; Ginny's Gift, by Ashwinder/tartanboxers, The Carpe Diem Series by Imogen, After the End, by Arabella and Zsenya, and Paradigm of Uncertainty, by Lori (although, I've yet to finish reading the entire series) to name a few.

After watching the latest Harry Potter film, I felt the need to read about Ginny's sock stealing adventures and baby fic seemed like a good idea at that time, so I looked out my folder of Imogen's fics and started to read. Only to discover that I appear to be missing chapters 7&8 of Home is Where the Heart is. And I can't find it anywhere online!

So, here is my question (after that long winded and likely unnecessary question -- but hey, if you're in the mood you now have links to some of the classics of the HP fandom!); does anyone know (a) where I can find the complete Carpe Diem series (or even just my missing chapters of Home is Where the Heart is) online? or (b) have a valid email address for Imogen? (so I can bug her again!) Because I think I only have her old GT email, as it's been so long since we were last in touch with each other.

Anyway, I'm off to bed!
